Miguel finished specialty training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery through the Philippine General Hospital -University of the Philippines, then in 2002 undertook a Clinical fellowship in Rhinology and Advanced Endoscopic Sinus Surgery at the University of Toronto, under Dr Ian Witterick. In 2004 he continued into a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Cincinnati Children’s Medical Centre- University of Cincinnati under Dr. Robin Cotton.
Since moving to Melbourne, Australia in 2006, he has rotated in several major hospitals in Victoria completing clinical fellowships in Rhinology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Head and Neck Surgery at Western Health Network, and Clinical ENT at Monash Medical Centre.
After acquiring his full accreditation as Otolaryngologist – Head and Neck Surgeon from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Miguel moved to Coffs Harbour in 2012, serving a wide catchment area spanning the Mid-North Coast. He sees patients at the Coffs ENT Centre, Coffs Harbour Health Campus and Baringa Private Hospital.
He spends his downtime exploring cycling trails around the region, playing the drums, watching movies or traveling to different parts of the world with his wife and very curious young daughter.
